I decided that I need a jump start to eating better and exercising this summer. I am also trying to kick my caffeine habit! So I decided to do a 3 day juice cleanse. I did this cleanse last summer so I had an idea of what to expect. On Thursday, my wonderful husband picked up the juice at 7 am. I ordered my juice from Natural Born Juicers. Here is the list of juices that you get with the 3 day beginning cleanse:
- Light Greens
- Grapefruit, apple, lemon
- Ultimate Greens
- Spicy Lemonade
- Sweet Beet
- Almond Milk
- Grapefruit Mint
- Spring Cleaner
At 8 am I drank my first juice. I realized I didn’t like the taste of cucumber and celery in my juice. I had to down it, follow with water, and pop a piece of gum in my mouth in order not to gag!
By 1 pm I had a killer headache and took a 3 hour nap! The rest of that day was brutal, as my body was very upset I had not had my usual 2-3 cups of coffee! Day 2 was much better and by Day 3 I was feeling normal again.
The grapefruit, apple, lemon was definitely my favorite.
If you are looking to do a juice cleanse I would make sure you have a little down time. You will definitely feel weak and possibly get a headache.
Of course you can make your own juices! This was just a convenient, easy way to do it. I will probably juice my own recipes next time since I definitely have my favorites. Happy juicing!
