We just celebrated my daughter’s fourth birthday.  I knew I wanted a birthday cake that was free from preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial food coloring so I had to come up with a plan!  I decided to purchase these cake mixes from a brand called Immaculate.  They were extremely easy to make.  Just add butter, eggs, and milk!  I made two sheet cakes so I could layer them!

Next was the frosting!  I used a cream cheese frosting recipe from Pinterest, which I tweaked a bit.  I added a cup of homemade whipped cream.

I purchased these natural food dyes for the icing colors!

Here is the finished product.  This was the first time for baking/decorating a birthday cake and I didn’t do a practice run! I wasn’t 100% pleased, but my daughter was thrilled.

She kept asking me who made the cake.  She couldn’t believe I did it and she said it was the “best cake ever”.  My daughter was happy and that’s the only thing that mattered!
